Check-in
Check-in is at 3:00 PM with smart-lock self check-in. Your door code and arrival steps are sent in your reservation messages before you arrive; please keep the code private. Both doors have Schlage Encode smart locks: type the 4-digit code from your check-in message on the keypad. The back door is a backup and uses the same code. Park for free on the gravel driveway. Early check-in is free when the schedule allows, and we confirm it on the morning of your arrival.
Stay connected
Wi-Fi
Network: Cedar & Steam Guest. The network itself has no password. After you connect, a sign-in page opens: enter the password from your check-in message. The cabin has fiber internet, so streaming and video calls work well if you need them.
Make yourself at home
Around the cabin
- Hot tub: Your private spa is right outside the door. Settle in under the pines any time of day, and see the hot tub rules below. A private barrel sauna is coming as part of our renovations.
- Outdoor movie lounge: Stretch out on the chaise loungers for a movie on the 65" outdoor TV after dark. Message us if you need help getting it going.
- TVs: All the TV remotes are interchangeable. The outdoor TV remote is on the mantle above the outdoor fireplace. Sign in to your own streaming accounts, and sign out before you leave.
- Fire pit and outdoor fireplace: Bring s’mores, and buy firewood locally before you arrive, because the cabin doesn’t provide it. Check the McCurtain County website for burn bans first, keep fires small and attended, and make sure fires are fully out before bed.
- Indoor fireplace: Stay in and warm up by the gas fireplace on cooler nights. To turn it on, use the wall timer switch on the right side of the fireplace.
- Wraparound deck and hammocks: Coffee on the deck in the morning, then a hammock and a book.
- Kitchen and grill: The full kitchen has the cooking basics, including pots, pans, oil, salt, and pepper, plus a dishwasher with pods provided. The Nespresso machine comes with starter pods for slow mornings, and there’s a propane grill for cooking out.
- Bedroom and baths: A king bed, a full bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, and a half bath.
- Bath and body products: The cabin uses Apotheke White Vetiver products throughout, in pump bottles that stay in the cabin. In the full bathroom, you’ll find shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower, plus hand soap and lotion at the sink. The half bath and the kitchen sink have hand soap. We refill the pumps before every stay, so you don’t need to pack these. If a pump runs low, message us.
- Extra guests: A queen air mattress for the living room, plus its pump and sheets, is in the cabin. Set it up yourself whenever you need it. At check-out, just leave it; our cleaning team takes care of it.
- Little ones: A pack ’n play and a high chair are in the cabin.
- Laundry, comfort, and parking: The washer and dryer are yours to use, and laundry detergent is provided. There’s AC and heat, with a smart thermostat you can adjust during your stay. Parking on the gravel driveway is free.
- Getting around: A few exterior steps lead to the entry and the deck. Inside, the cabin is all on one level.
- Trash: Use the bin closest to the cabin at the curb, and keep ash and fish out of it. Pickup is several times a week. If the bin is full, message us.
- Not provided: The cabin doesn’t have bicycles or a swimming pool. For a swim, Broken Bow Lake is about 17 minutes away, and Beavers Bend State Park is about 20 minutes away.
